The trek begins at Machame Gate, Elevation 1800 M.

Day One - Leaving the lodge for the Machame Gate on Mt. Kilimanjaro. Once there, park rangers weigh bags and ensure that there are enough porters to support the team. The group is over 50 people. Once all checks are complete the hiking begins.

Day one is a 7-mile hike through the beautiful rain forest to Machame Gate camp.
